Simon Sloth Market Bag Crochet Pattern
Updated: Jul 28, 2019
I am so excited to introduce my latest Simon Sloth to you – he’s now a market bag! I wanted to call him the “Simon Sloth Shopper” but here in the UK that’s not really a term we use and I’m not sure anyone would ever find him!
I love those bags you get that all fold up into one corner so I can fit them in my handbag and magic them out at the supermarket giving the illusion I am super organised when in fact I just carry them around all the time because I always, ALWAYS forget a bag! So… not only is Simon super cute and useful but he also tucks inside his own face and tightens with a toggle to make him compact and portable which makes him helpful too!
I made Simon in Paintbox Yarns DK and he is a handful when all tucked away – I have made him up in cotton 5ply and that was fab too and a bit smaller (I didn’t have nice colours and he’s not looking so pretty so I’m not showing you that one!)
Simon is an experienced beginner crochet pattern and he requires a bit of sewing (to get his face on) but he comes together and is ready to go pretty sharpish (unlike me!).
As usual you can find the pattern and the yarn I used for Simon over on Love Crafts and the pattern is available on Ravelry and Etsy (links over on my patterns page).
Just a heads up, all the Love Crafts links on this website are affiliate links, this means I make a small commission if you make a purchase through it. It doesn’t cost you anything extra but helps me tick along with website costs and free patterns, as a small business I truly appreciate your support and understanding.
I always LOVE to see your makes so please tag me on Instagram or upload your projects to Ravelry or Love Crafts – they really make my heart sing and encourage me to keep going!
Love and Yarny Hugs,
I know you guys have got this down now but please be a nice, respectful human being and do not sell or distribute my patterns in any way, especially as your own. I welcome the sale (on a small scale by an individual maker but not mass production) or sharing of finished products made from my patterns crediting me, PenniesfromDevon, as the pattern designer and linking to this website or one of my social media accounts. It's also OK to share blog posts and free patterns but only through the share post button on each post or a direct link to this site. If you have any questions regarding distribution or translation of this pattern, please contact me on pennie@penniesfromdevon.
