Slouchy Cowly Cardi Crochet Pattern
Updated: Jul 28, 2019
There is nothing better than being wrapped up snuggly and warm in a cosy, handmade cardigan. The Slouchy Cowly Cardi meets all these needs – just add cocoa!
This design had been in my mind FOR-EVER! I started and frogged it numerous times trying to get the stitch density and drape just right but it was sooo worth it. It’s rare I make something for myself, I’m sure lots of you are the same, but the Slouchy Cowly Cardi was made with me, myself and I in mind (though most of the pics are of my lovely Mum wearing it!); it’s self-indulgence in double knit!
The Slouchy Cowly Cardi is designed to be slouchy and comfortable, made up with lots of positive ease. It’s an unusual design, with long front panels that touch the floor. These are joined together to create a super slouchy super comfy front panel which loops back around your neck keeping you warm and cosy and creating the cowl like neckline.
My Slouchy Cowly Cardi is made up using Stylecraft Special DK (8ply) in mustard but some of my testers made theirs in variegated double knit and they looked amazing! You can check out some of their fab makes on my Instagram feed, @PenniesfromDevon. The pattern is written in UK terminology and comes in sizex extra small to Extra Large (71cm-117cm across the bust)
This pattern and the yarn I used for my Cardi (with suggested quantities) are available from Love Crochet at the link below (The pattern is also available from my Ravelry and Etsy stores if you would prefer).
Full disclosure, the link below is an affiliate link, which means I make a small commission if you purchase something through it. This is at no extra cost to you but really helps me to keep the website running and the free patterns coming. As a small business I really value your support.
